- South Wood County Park (Lake Wazeecha)
- Veterans Memorial Park & Downtown Wisconsin Rapids
- Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo and Surrounding Area

Central Wisconsin Cultural Center
The Central Wisconsin Cultural Center is a great space to set up an indoor studio. Studio set ups can be customized directly to your session, and we will work together to decide what backdrops and props work best for you! Studio sessions are great for cake smash sessions, milestone sessions, birthday sessions, and sibling sessions.
Nepco Lake County Park
Nepco lake has a lot of wonderful spots to offer. It features a great view of the lake as well as a beautiful wooded area. There are also plenty of grassy areas to sit on as well as a small beach. The lighting here is gorgeous at sunset. There are usually a few people here, however its easy to work around them.
This location also features a long driveway with tons of gorgeous foliage and grassy areas. There are many good places to stop along the way, especially in the fall when the leaves are starting to change.
Robinson park is located on the northeast side of Rapids and is one of Rapids’ largest parks. It features an expansive grassy area and tons of trees. This spot is perfect if you are looking for a more secluded spot for pictures.
This park may have people around if there are community events going on. Its best to schedule your session around those dates so there aren’t a bunch of people in the backgrounds of your photos.
South Wood County Park (Lake Wazeecha)
There are so many great spots at Lake Wazeecha. The white sands beach area offers huge hills and grassy areas with a stunning view of the lake. There are also many trees and hidden areas. The red sands beach also has a lot to offer. This beach features a shelter house made of beautiful stone as well as a big open field.
If your looking for a more wooded area, this location has that too with a walking trail that goes all around the lake. There are many great spots along the trail as well as unique bridges and views of the lake itself. There are usually more people at the beaches than on the trails, making this a perfect photo spot.
Veterans Memorial Park & Downtown Wisconsin Rapids
Veterans Memorial park is located right downtown next to the great Wisconsin river. There is a beautiful stretch of grass and trees along the river as well as several old brick buildings and other architectural features.
In the evenings, the sun sets right on the other side of the river creating gorgeous lighting. There is also a spot where you can go down near the river on the rocks for a perfect river backdrop. Leashed dogs are also allowed here.
Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo and Surrounding Area
There are many places to explore around the zoo. This location features a nearby hiking and cycling trail that is part of the Ahdawagam Trails. This wooded trail is colorful in the fall and runs right along the train tracks.
Right next door to that is an old cheese factory that features gorgeous brick for an urban feel. There are also many grassy areas around the building for sitting and playing.
Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial
The Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial is located at Ben Hanson Park. It features a beautiful view of the Wisconsin River as well as an expansive grassy area. There is a bridge and many trees and benches. Leashed dogs are also welcomed here.
This spot can be very busy in the summer or around the time of any High School dances, so sessions may have to be scheduled around peak times.
Other Locations Outside of Rapids
North Wood County Park | 7500 Park Lane Arpin, WI 54410
This spot is absolutely stunning in the fall months. It features wooded areas and walking paths as well as open grassy fields. There is also a suspension bridge over the Yellow River and another rustic brick bridge. This place has everything you could want for your photo session.
Rudolph Grotto Gardens | 6975 Grotto Ave, Rudolph, WI 54475
Grotto Gardens is a truly unique place that features a garden with man-made rock formations, trees, and flowers. It has several paths lined with trees, colorful flowers, and plants that also go up onto the rock formations. There are plenty of hidden nooks and places to sit in this area and the foliage is gorgeous.
Any of these photo spots are great choices but if you have a specific location in mind for your session, I would love to hear about it! Maybe you have a spot that’s meaningful to you or you have access to special location that others do not. I always love when clients are able to secure a unique spot for their session!
